Snoop Dogg’s appearance was advertised weeks in advance for AEW’s New Year Special, New Year’s Smash. He ended up playing quite a prominent role in the show. A backstage appearance earlier in the show before performing the splash inside the squared circle.
He even pinned Serpentico with Cody counting the three count; albeit it wasn’t official. Regardless, it made for good TV and that’s about what Tony Khan wanted from his celebrity guest. Although, if he does ever come back, we hope he takes up Sasha’s offer.
