"It feels good": Lamar Jackson Ecstatic After First Playoff Win

Lamar Jackson was all smiles in his post-game interview as the Ravens advanced to the divisional round. Jackson picked up his first playoff victory too.

The Ravens will have to wait to see who their opponent is as it depends on the outcome of the Steelers-Browns game. If the Browns win, the Ravens will play the Bills, but if the Steelers win, the Ravens will take on Kansas City.

Regardless, this has to feel amazing for Jackson and the Ravens who were doubted on all year long. The Ravens are picking up steam at the right time and anything is possible in the playoffs.

Ravens Defense Shuts Down Derrick Henry

One of the biggest storylines coming into this game was how the Ravens would stop Derrick Henry. Henry had ran all over the Ravens defense in their previous two games, and his play was a large reason Tennessee won both those games.

However, the Baltimore defense finally stepped up. Henry only ran for 40 yards on 18 carries which averages out to 2.2 yards-per-carry. Further, Henry also never found the end-zone.

For a Titans team that is built around rushing the ball, Henry’s subpar performance greatly impacted them. The Titans rely on big rushing days from Henry to open up their passing attack as opposing defenses are forced to stack men in the box.

However, that was clearly not the case today. Tannehill struggled as a result going 18/26 for only 165 yards and one touchdown. He also threw this ugly interception which sealed the game:

Lamar Jackson Electrifies Ravens’ Offense

While Derrick Henry was absolutely stuffed, Lamar Jackson got the ground game working for the Ravens. Jackson may not have finished with the most eye-popping passing stats (17/24 for 179 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception), but his legs more than made up for it.

He finished the day with 16 rushes for 136 yards and one touchdown as he simply couldn’t be stopped. Jackson once again showed off his elusiveness and speed with big runs all day long:

Overall, the Ravens ran for 236 rushing yards compared to just 51 from the Titans and that was the key difference maker.
