“LeBron James is feeling like Larry Bird”: Lakers star turns towards bench after taking corner 3-pointer without watching it go in
The Houston Rockets are getting massacred for the second straight game tonight. LeBron James rubbed it in even more for the jubilant Lakers.
The Lakers tallied their best halftime score of the season so far, taking a 71-48 lead to the locker room. They were in their element defensively, conceding just 14 points in the first quarter. The game has been curtains from that point on, as they’ve also been hot from the field.
LeBron tallied over 22 points in the first half alone, including 12 in the second quarter. The highlight of his outing came when he got a feed to the left corner. He took his time to set himself up with one dribble. James then shot the ball, looking at the bench behind in mid-flight.

LeBron James and Lakers dominate Houston Rockets for second straight game
By the end of the 3rd quarter, the Lakers held a 97-71 lead, improving upon the first and second quarters. After 35-14 and 71-48 marks at the end of two quarters, the game has felt like extended garbage time.
LeBron looked as unstoppable as ever on the drive. If he hadn’t consigned himself to shooting so much from the perimeter, James could quite easily have had 40 points for himself. His Lakers teammates certainly weren’t loath to driving at the basket now.
Anthony Davis tallied 5 blocks in the first 3 quarters itself. This included a stellar play on Sterling Brown, stopping a 2-on-1 fast break. The Lakers have stifled the Rockets in front of their home fans for the second straight game now. Not only were they successful in holding James Harden and co to bad shooting nights, their own offense has been rolling.
It’s going to be a tough turnaround for the Rockets now, sitting at 3-6 and well out of playoff contention. James Harden has been distinctly out of form for 5 games since getting off to a start averaging 37 points per game.
