“James Harden, you want to jump off the cliff after 9 games?”: John Wall slams Rockets star for openly conceding he wants to leave Houston
James Harden is getting slammed by his own Rockets teammates, including John Wall. He commented that they don’t have a title run in them.
After another abysmal defeat to the Lakers – their second in 3 nights – James Harden had had enough. He went to the press explaining why he demanded a trade. The Lakers have already beaten the Rockets 4-1 in their 2020 playoff run. This game was further evidence to him that he won’t be winning a title in Houston.
But airing his opinion in public is a different matter altogether from requesting a trade. To come out and condemn your teammates for not being ‘championship’ level 10 games into the season is bad, no matter how you spin it. John Wall didn’t hesitate to point this out today.
Harden has only played 7 games alongside John Wall so far, so the duo has a lot of time to adjust. But for Harden to close that window must have hurt really bad.
John Wall criticizes James Harden for saying Rockets teammates won’t win him a ring
John Wall named no names in his post-game presser. But it was clear as daylight who he was referring to with these comments:
“When you have certain guys in the mix who don’t buy in all as one, it’s going to be hard to do anything. Especially on a basketball team. I’ve been on those teams for my first 5 years when players were all like ‘me, me, me.’ They ain’t about the team and that hurts and that brings everybody down.”
“So if y’all are on the same page, we could be something good here. We can’t go down because it’s only been 9 games. Like, come on man, you want to jump off the cliff after just 9 games?”

The Rockets locker room is going to be one depressed place till the time Harden is traded, that’s for sure.
