Kylian Mbappe reveals he turned down Arsenal for PSG

French sensation, Kylian Mbappe has shockingly revealed that he turned down a move to Premier League giants, Arsenal, in favour of a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 18-year-old spoke with French veteran, Arsene Wenger about leaving AS Monaco for the Emirates Stadium outfit. However, he changed his mind and decided to move to the French capital of Paris.

Mbappe grew up in the city of Paris, as he rose through the ranks of AS Monaco. He left Monaco for PSG on deadline day for a season-long loan, while the deal could be made permanent next year for a whooping £166 million.

With just after a week of joining the Parc des Princes outfit, Mbappe has revealed that he was approached by Arsenal. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, he revealed that he met with Arsene Wenger, who he feels is a great coach.

Mbappe further claimed that Wenger had a great reputation in France, where he is well-respected for his ability to develop young football stars. He insisted that Arsenal was an option for him, but he chose the main option of Paris Saint-Germain.

The 18-year-old has decided to work with PSG manager, Unai Emery, who already has a front line that includes £200 million world record signing of Neymar, who joined the Ligue 1 giants from Barcelona last month.

Mbappe also claimed that he weighed up his options and his opportunities to explore, but faced no pressure from his family on his decision.

He further claimed that it was a long-time decision that he had to make for himself, and he chose the right option of PSG to develop him into a global star.

Kylian Mbappe had a break-out season last term with AS Monaco, scoring 21 goals and setting up 8 more in 39 appearances. His incredible performances led Monaco to the Ligue 1 title, and a semi-final finish in the UEFA Champions League last season.
