Rohit Sharma bowling: Watch Indian vice-captain bowls gentle medium-pace in Brisbane Test
Rohit Sharma bowling: The Indian vice-captain had to complete injured Navdeep Saini’s over at the Gabba today.
During the first day of the fourth Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia in Brisbane, India fast bowler Navdeep Saini had to walk off the ground after suffering a niggle in the middle or his over.
It all had happened after the penultimate delivery of the 36th over when India captain Ajinkya Rahane dropped a straightforward catch to hand a reprieve to Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne.
Saini, who was deprived of a wicket by Rahane’s mistake at gully, was immediately seen lying on the ground by what seems to be a hamstring niggle.

Upon receiving immediate medical attention, Saini walked off the ground in a bid to not further aggravate his injury. In a major relief, the right-arm bowler soon returned to the field.
Meanwhile, Rahane introduced his deputy Rohit Sharma into the attack to bowl a lone delivery and complete Saini’s over. Sharma, who was known to be a handy off-spinner back in the day, bowled a gentle medium-pacer outside the off-stump to Labuschagne.
It is worth mentioning that the last time Sharma had bowled in international cricket was during South Africa’s tour of India in 2019. Playing his 34th Test, Sharma has picked only a couple of wickets so far.
