“Kevin Durant could have played another 20 minutes”: Nets star’s statement post-game should come as a sign of excitement for fans

Nets’ star forward Kevin Durant had a very exciting message for fans of the team after their double-OT loss to the Cavs last night.

The Brooklyn Nets recorded a 147-135 Double OT loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even despite Kevin Durant recording team-high 38 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 blocks, it simply wasn’t enough. Collin Sexton was on fire tonight, as he recorded a game-high 42 points to see the Cavs through.

However, despite the loss, there were positives that could be noted for the Nets fans. Kevin Durant played the most minutes tonight since he injured his Achilles in the 2019 Finals. He did not show any signs of deterioration and was focused till the last minute.

A lot of people were worried about how KD would be like when he makes his comeback from the ruptured Achilles. He initially proved that he is still the same Kevin Durant, as he started the season in MVP form. He has averaged 31.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in the 12 contests he has played in. Another main question was how much KD can play per game without risking a chance at risking an injury.

KD answered that question tonight, as he played 50 whole minutes. Post the game, KD talked to the press, and there he said he felt as if he could play for 20 more minutes.

KD and the Nets started the game with a bang tonight, going 10/10 from the field to start the game. Not soon after, they sizzled down, missing their next 10 field goal attempts. They turned the ball over 16 times, 8 out of which came in the first period alone. Even though the Nets have a lot of new pieces in the roster, they need to be more careful about the ball.

The other two Brooklyn stars also put up impressive numbers. Kyrie recorded 37 points in his first game back, whereas Harden recorded a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists. The Nets will have a chance to redeem themselves, as they face the Cavs again on Friday.
