‘Jamal Murray can use this as a learning experience’: Mike Malone consoles Nuggets point guard after his ejection for hitting Tim Hardaway Jr in the groin
Mike Malone was supportive of his young starting point guard Jamal Murray despite Murray’s ejection for hitting Tim Hardaway Jr on the groin.
Denver Nuggets star point guard Jamal Murray isn’t really all the aggressive when it comes to getting frustrated during matches. On Monday night, Jamal Murray was surprisingly ejected from the game after he intentionally hit Tim Hardaway Jr. on his groin.
During the match between Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks, in the second half of the game, Murray was ejected after receiving a flagrant 2 fouls for his blow. After Hardaway and Murray collided, Murray got up and hit Hardaway right between his legs with his right hands.

Immediately, the closest officials blew the whistle and stopped play with 4:51 remaining on the clock. The initial call of a normal foul was later upgraded to a flagrant 2 type foul after video reviews.
‘Jamal Murray frustrated that they didn’t call a foul’: Hardaway talks about the incident post-game
Post game, in an interview, Tim Hardaway said that he guesses Jamal Murray did that as he was getting frustrated. He maybe was getting frustrated as the officials didn’t call a foul. Hardaway also added that he was just doing his part and trying his best to deny the ball. He didn’t show any resentment towards Murray as he further on said that “it happens in a game”.
The Nuggets still managed to win 117-113 without their star point guard for almost 17 minutes of the game. Michael Porter Jr. had a fabulous performance scoring 30 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in only 28 minutes. While, despite getting another 35-point triple-double, Luka Doncic and his team couldn’t manage to win the match.
The Denver Nuggets have now improved their record to 10-7, placing them 4th on the Western Conference. Whereas, Dallas Mavericks now have a record of 8-9 to place them 10th in the same conference.
