“I don’t get tired”: LeBron James justifies his decision to play every game for the Lakers, vows to suit up whenever he can alongside Anthony Davis
LeBron James says that he never feels exhausted and never thinks about being fatigued as he’s always ready to play games.
The Los Angeles Lakers are once again one of the premier teams in the league. Despite losses to the Sixers and Pistons, they still boast the third-best record in the league at 14-6.
This is all because of LeBron James having an MVP-calibre season. He’s leading the Lakers in scoring in their first 20 games. It seems as though LeBron has bought into giving it his all this season. He hasn’t sat out a single game for load management yet.
This can be attributed to James’s intense conditioning that he spends millions of dollars on. Most importantly, the Lakers aren’t taxing him by playing him heavy minutes. In his absence, they still have Dennis Schroder to keep the bench scoring going. The result is that James is averaging a career-low 33.1 minutes per game.
LeBron James lets everyone know that he won’t be taking it easy this season
After the Lakers’ loss to the Pistons, James was asked about his workload this season. His answer was a typically confident one:
“I don’t get tired, I don’t feel tired. I get my sleep, I get my rest, I have a lot of energy. My mindset never gets to the point where it’s like this is a long road trip or I’m exhausted or I’m tired.
“I don’t even think about that. When we have our games, I’m ready to go and when we’re not playing, I have an opportunity to rest and get my body back right and my mind refreshed.”
It truly is remarkable how he’s been able to sustain such a high level of play even in his 18th season in the league. LeBron James doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon and is starting to look like the NBA’s Tom Brady. It will be a stupendous achievement if he’s able to sniff Brady’s record and play beyond the age of 40.
