“Dennis Schroder contested Kemba Walker’s shot well”: LeBron James opens up about Lakers’ narrow win over Celtics and breaking their losing streak
LeBron James opens up about the final moments of the game against the Boston Celtics and says the Lakers don’t want to lose a single game.
The Los Angeles Lakers nearly went on a 3 game losing streak last night as they barely survived their run-in with the Boston Celtics. LeBron James and co. were on the verge of blowing a 7 point lead with 2 minutes left in the game.
On a night when the Chicago Bulls blew a 5 point lead with 8 seconds left in the game, Boston pulling the rug from right under the Lakers’ feet seemed very possible.
Dennis Schroder came up big for the Lakers down the stretch as he had a clutch and-1 layup and contested Kemba Walker’s potential game winning mid-range stepback quite well.

Up by 1 point, Anthony Davis tried to go to work on the left but was stripped by Kemba Walker. The Lakers, however, recovered quite well and stopped a potential fast break from commencing.
LeBron James talked about the final possession in his postgame interview and said that he was happy with the Lakers “having a quick twitch and getting back into the play.” He also gave Schroder his props saying, “Dennis did a great job staying in front of Kemba even though Kemba got to his patented shot, the stepback.”

When asked about potentially delving down a 3 game losing streak last night, he said, “We don’t want to lose one in a row. We had to play some really good basketball to win and we were able to win one more possession than they were able to tonight.”
The Lakers currently hold the 3rd seed out West with a 15-6 record. They look to inch themselves closer to the number one seed they held at the beginning of the season.
