“I’m having a blast, I’m having fun”: Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas buoyant after his team sets franchise record despite losing James Harden

The Houston Rockets knocked down 28 3-pointers last night in a blowout win against the OKC Thunder to set an insane franchise record.

The Rockets have established themselves as a great three-point shooting team. On Monday night, they set a crazy milestone for three-pointers. They were in red hot form from beyond the arc against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Knocking down 28 three-pointers, they set a new franchise record, while almost breaking the NBA’s current record (Milwaukee Bucks – 29).

Houston connected on an impressive 28 3-pointers from 52 attempts, shooting a remarkable 53.8%. The insane number of three-pointers helped the Rockets defeat the Thunder 136-106.

Eric Gordon, a former 3-point contest contestant shot a spectacular 5-9 shooting. He spoke about the team’s flawless ball movement. He also added:

“When you’re able to move the ball like that, you’re unpredictable. It’s tough to scout to slow us down when we’re playing like that, moving the ball, guys are taking the right shots. As long as we’re playing like that, I’ll take our chances over anybody.”

Ever since James Harden departed from Houston, the Rockets have been in great form. The victory against Oklahoma was their sixth consecutive victory, which continues a season-long winning streak.

Credits should also be given to new head coach Stephen Silas. The start for his first year was not very happy, with the whole James Harden situation going on. But in the post-game interview, Silas spoke about how he was having fun.

“I’m having a blast. I’m not going to wait 20 years to be a head coach and not have fun doing it. Even when times are hard or shaky as they were at the beginning, I’m going to have fun.”

Houston will return to action against the same Thunder on Wednesday night. With an improved 10-9 record, the Rockets are now 9th in the Western Conference. For Oklahoma, losing back-to-back games, have fallen to the 12th spot with an 8-11 record.
