Virat Kohli has revealed how he scores so many Hundreds
Virat Kohli has decoded the secret to scoring hundreds. And you would have to believe him, as he has been scoring them at will during his career.
The most striking ability or feature about Kohli is how he paces his innings and the fact that he never resorts to slogging the ball, no matter what the required run rate.
Kohli would be up against one of his favourite opponents in Australia this home season, hoping to continue his good form against ‘familiar foes’. But off late, Kohli hasn’t quite fired against the Aussies.
He has had a poor record against them in 2017 and would be hoping to rectify it in the upcoming ODIs.
India registered a thumping win last night, being pushed back to the wall on multiple occasions, but coming back strongly, despite not much contribution from the usual suspects(Rohit and Virat).
The media has always wanted to know Virat’s mantra for success. Having racked up 30 hundreds in ODI’s, Virat is clearly doing something that the others are finding hard to replicate. And when posed with this question, Virat came up with a very suave answer.
“I don’t play for the three-figure mark, may be that’s why I end up crossing it more. Because I am not thinking about it. So I don’t put myself under pressure in terms of I need to achieve a landmark. For me, what’s most important is to win the match for the team.”
“As I said before even if I am 98 not out or 99 not out, I don’t mind, as long as I win the game. In that process, things end up happening because you want to stay till the end. So my motivation has never been that, it will never be that.” Kohli said.
Kohli wanted the media to know that he would continue with this philosophy as long as he is playing International cricket.
“Whatever time I play, 8 years, 10 years or 12 years whatever it is, I will never think of that because it just doesn’t come to me naturally. For me, what’s most important is how can I help the team win with the bat in the field, giving my 120 per cent every time I step on to the field and preparing accordingly that I think is more important to me than the personal landmark,” Kohli concluded.
When you play for individual records, you more often that not end up jeopardising the team’s interests and yours as well. Kohli is someone who wears the Indian jersey with a lot of pride and wants to put the interests of the nation before his. And with 30 hundreds to vouch for, you can be rest assured that Kohli is using the right approach with the bat while playing for Team India.
