“Even Robots need an oil change”: Richard Jefferson makes jokes on Kawhi Leonard while he got eye drops
Richard Jefferson poked fun at Kawhi Leonard, calling him a robot after he got poked in the eye in the Clippers’ loss to the Celtics.
The Boston Celtics fought tooth and nail to take down the Los Angeles Clippers 119-115 on Friday. The Clippers held a double-digit lead for most of the game, but a valiant effort by the Celtics in the final 12 minutes saw them steal a win.
The Clippers felt the absence of their star Paul George tonight. PG sat out the game due to a foot soreness that he sustained in the game against the Cavs. Jayson Tatum took full advantage of the same and torched the Clippers for a 34 point game-high performance.
Richard Jefferson calls Kawhi Leonard a robot
Midway through the fourth quarter, Celtics forward Semi Ojeleye poked Kawhi Leonard in the eye while defending him. This caused Kawhi to get sidelined for a minute or more, while the medical staff treated him with eye drops.
While Kawhi was sidelined during the crucial time, sportscaster Richard Jefferson could not contain his laugh when he saw Kawhi Leonard getting treatment. Jefferson went on to claim Kawhi is a cyborg, and said ‘even robots need an oil change’ when he saw the eye drops.

Kawhi Leonard tried his best to secure a win in his teammate’s absence but ultimately fell short in the final moments. He recorded 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Despite having one of their stars out, the Clippers were always in striking distance.
With this loss, the Clippers now have a 17-7 record and still hold the 3rd spot in the West. They would like to get back to their winning ways when they face one of their Californian foes, the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
