‘Buddy just did the dance’: All-Star Andre Iguodala ridicules Stephen Curry’s shimmy celebration in Warriors’ loss to Mavericks
Andre Iguodala joked that Stephen Curry looked like Will Smith when he did a shimmy celebration against the Mavericks last night.
Stephen Curry is known for his insane three-point shooting. In fact, he’s considered the best shooter in the league’s history. Whenever he’s on the court, he has his fun shooting the ball and celebrates with his iconic ‘shimmy’ celebration.
Andre Iguodala, a current veteran for the Miami Heat, played alongside Curry for 6 seasons. He has witnessed Curry breaking records day in, day out.
On Sunday night, Stephen Curry erupted for a 57-point game, shooting 11 three-pointers, in a tough 132-134 loss to the Mavericks. Midway in the third quarter, Stephen Curry pulled up from the Mavericks logo and knocked down an insane three-pointer. The two-time MVP was in his feels and let out a new dance move.
Andre Iguodala took notice of this, rather odd-looking shimmy and tweeted it out by giving a reference from the TV show ‘The Fresh Prince is Bel-Air’:
“Buddy just did the jump on it dance that Will and Carlton did at the talent show…”

Stephen Curry now has 16 career games with 10+ three-pointers, most in NBA history
Stephen Curry holds virtually all the records in the book related to three-point shooting. On his way to scoring 57 points, he shot a total of 11 three-pointers. He now has 16 games with 10+ three-pointers. To put it in a perspective of how crazy that is – the next on the same list is his ‘Splash Brother’ Klay Thompson with 5 such games.
Following Curry’s impressive performance, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said:
“We’re talking about a two-time MVP, a three-time champion. I’ve never seen him like this. It was ridiculous, the shots he was hitting, the degree of difficulty, the ease with which he made them. He’s never played better.”
