Virat Kohli wicket today: The Indian captain was dismissed on a duck for the first time by a spinner in international cricket.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Chennai, England all-rounder Moeen Ali justified his selection ahead of Dom Bess by dismissing India captain Virat Kohli for a duck becoming the first spinner to dismiss him for a duck in international cricket.

It all happened on the second delivery of the 22nd over when Kohli’s attempt of playing an ambitious drive off Ali saw him losing his wicket. In what was a delivery which pitched outside the off-stump and turned into the batsman, Kohli was deceived by the turn which was evident from his expression after getting bowled.

Ali, who was bowling his fifth over, dismissed the most important Indian batsman despite going for runs in his first spell. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 21st over, Kohli departed after scoring 0 (5).

After Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, India have scored 106/3 in 26 overs in the morning session. Opening batsman Rohit Sharma, who had failed in the first Test, has scored a brisk 12th Test half-century to score a large chunk of the runs today so far.

Other than Ali, England fast bowler Olly Stone and spinner Jack Leach have also picked a wicket each to dent the Indian innings.
