Team India’s status for the ICC Champions Trophy may be in limbo but that has not discouraged their new official sponsor, OPPO India. Here CHECK OUT Team India’s new jersey with a new sponsor.
The new jersey is similar to the previous one that India has worn since the start of the year, but with a few minor changes. The sides along the arms have a darker shade of blue while the chest and back have lighter shade of blue.
OPPO India will have its logo feature prominently on front of the shirt. OPPO paid a huge Rs 1079 to win its official rights in a deal that will last for five years. The company will be paying an amount of Rs. 1.56 crore for every game featuring in an ICC tournament, and Rs. 4.61 crore per bilateral game involving the Indian team.

After OPPO won the bid, Rahul Johari had the following to say,
“On behalf of the BCCI, I would like to congratulate OPPO Mobiles India Pvt Ltd., on winning the rights and welcome them to the BCCI family. OPPO Mobiles and the BCCI share a common vision and I am confident that we will work together to further grow Indian cricket.”
OPPO beat fellow Chineese smartphone VIVO while bidding for the official rights. VIVO had made a bid of $115 million which was far lower than OPPO’s bid of $162 million. Both bids were for a five year period starting in April.
This is a huge move by OPPO as the smartphone company has made big moves in promoting their brand especially in the sports field. Let us see if this change brings some luck to the Indian national team.
