“Patrick Beverley is shooting it like Steph Curry”: Clippers guard copies LeBron James with a no-look 3 in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s absence against Cavaliers

Patrick Beverley hits a look-away 3 from the corner against the Cleveland Cavaliers en route to blowing them out in Kawhi and PG’s absence. 

The Los Angeles Clippers faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night in a game that featured little to no defense on either team’s part. This is strange, considering that J.B. Bickerstaff has always been a defensive-minded coach in his NBA tenure.

Though the Clippers were missing two of their best players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the ‘other Clippers’ dialed it up from beyond the arc, shooting 43%. Lou Williams took over the scoring burden and had a season-high 30 points. Serge Ibaka, and Marcus Morris Sr dropped 20+ as well.

In a game that didn’t feature either Kawhi or PG, Patrick Beverley came up with the biggest highlight of the night.

Patrick Beverley has always been one to bet on himself before anyone else. His confidence is at a constant high whether he’s down by 20 or up by the same. Luckily for the gritty point guard, his Clippers squad was holding a comfortable double-digit lead over the Cavaliers when he decided to show off his range. 

Early in the 3rd quarter, with the Clippers leading by 21 points, Pat Bev caught the ball on the left corner and drained a three. What made this 3-pointer special was the fact that he turned away and stared down the Cavaliers bench right after the ball left his fingertips. Beverley drained the 3 and went back on defense.
