“Kevin Durant could return to Golden State”: NBA analyst theorizes Nets MVP’s return to the Warriors to once again team up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green
An NBA analyst claims that he believes Kevin Durant could make a possible return to the Golden State Warriors some time in the future.
Though he spent merely 3 years in the Bay Area, Kevin Durant’s name will forever be etched in the annals of Golden State Warriors history. The 6’10 forward brought the Warriors two straight championships and earned himself two Finals MVPs in the process as well.
Though there was a bit of a falling out between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, which ultimately led to Durant’s departure from the Dubs, they seemed to have hashed it out. In last night’s game between the Nets and the Warriors, KD was seen in good spirits around his old teammates, Steph, Klay, as well as Draymond.
ESPN’s Nick Friedell has a take on Durant’s future plans and surprisingly, it involves a former team of his, not named the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Nick Friedell says that Kevin Durant returning to the Warriors is a possibility
The Warriors and Kevin Durant hadn’t ended thing on a sour note as the former obliged to a sign and trade with the Nets so the Warriors don’t lose KD for nothing. This got them D’Angelo Russell which in turn got them Andrew Wiggins.

Nick Friedell believes that there could be reunion of sorts between the 2007 draftee and the GSW.
“Whether or not Kevin returns at some point, we will see. But this has always been a guy who clearly by what he’s done, is not afraid of trying some new stuff. I think that all the emotions that brought them together could potentially bring them together again.”
“We will find out as everyone’s career plays out but I know the Warriors would not be opposed to it and I know having listened to Steph, Klay, and Draymond through the years, they try to make it work.”
What initially attracted Kevin Durant to the Warriors was their style of play. OKC featured too much ‘hero-ball’ and KD grew tired of it with Russell Westbrook. He wanted a more, free flowing offense where it didn’t matter who scored, as long as the team was successful.
KD is clearly still on good terms with the Golden State big three and knows the staff there very well. Not to mention, he has a solid relationship with Steve Kerr. A reunion between the two wouldn’t be totally out of left field.
