“Still gets me fired up…”: Tom Brady Reacts to His Draft Scouting Report After Winning His 7th Ring With Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With draft season coming up soon, a video of Tom Brady reacting to his horribly inaccurate scouting report usually resurfaces on social media.
This time Brady, fresh off his record breaking 7th Super Bowl win, confirmed what some fans must have been frightened to hear. His scouting report from more than 20 years ago does, in fact, still get him fired up.

In the video, made by NFL Films and posted by Bleacher Report, the late Steve Sabol reviews Brady’s scouting report with him. Sabol reads the report which says Brady had a “poor build” and then jokes, “That might still be true!”
After sharing a quick laugh with Brady, he goes through the rest of the comments which include, “skinny”, “lacks great physical stature and strength”, and “gets knocked down easily.”
“That kinda gets me fired up, ’cause I’m thinking, you know, ‘What the hell do these people know?’ That sounds like Joe Montana right there. . . . “, said Brady in response.
“When people tell you, ‘Hey, you can’t do this, you can’t do this,’ and you keep overcoming that, you build this confidence and this belief in yourself that, even when nobody else believes in you, that I’m still gonna do it.”
“Because I don’t give a sh*t what you say. I know what I can do, and I’ve done it.”
When Will Tom Brady Retire?
Unlike the scouts, Brady’s comments definitely aged well. At the age of 43, he just won his 7th Super Bowl in a playoff run that saw him beat Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Patrick Mahomes.
Perhaps the most crazy part about Brady’s underdog story, though, is that it’s not even over yet. If you’re a fan of any of the other 31 teams not located in Tampa Bay, then the ellipsis in “Still gets me fired up…” should scare you.
He may be 43, but he’s not showing any signs of slowing down. He still takes care of his body meticulously and has proven that he can assemble a Super Bowl winning team at his own discretion.
Brady has another year left on his contract so he will for sure be back in 2021, but beyond that, who knows?
