“It’s like fighting a younger version of myself” – Goldberg says WWE star reminds him of his younger self
Goldberg says WWE star reminds him of his younger self. The WWE Hall of Famer is the subject of WWE’s latest documentary on the WWE network.
Goldberg will appear on WWE’s documentary titled Goldberg at 54. Shot before his match with Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, Goldberg opened up on how he felt physically ahead of their much anticipated encounter.

Goldberg claimed that he wasn’t a shmuck who had been called upon just to be run over by his opponent. He then noted seeing some similarities between himself and his opponent before revealing that it felt like he was fighting a younger version of himself.
Goldberg says WWE star Drew McIntyre reminds him of his younger self
“The problem I have is the time constraint. I think physically, even though I’m at an accelerated age, I think I’m still there. I’m not called upon to be some shmuck who’s easily run over, you know. Especially in a situation like this, preparing for Drew (McIntyre), who’s as in shape as anybody is going to be, as a champion should be. You know, it’s like fighting a younger version of myself, in a little way.”
Goldberg is not the most technically proficient wrestler in the world. What he does offer in the ring is brutality and excitement. And that was exactly what he delivered in his match against the Scotsman. Goldberg managed to land both the Spear and Jackhammer but McIntyre managed to kick out before brining the match to a close at three minutes after hitting the WWE Hall of Famer with a Claymore kick.
