“I think it’s just the team colours”- Mick Schumacher doesn’t see any objection in the newly introduced Haas’ livery allegedly resembling Russian colours.
Mick Schumacher is in Bahrain to participate in the three-day-long test session before making his Formula 1 debut in the same country at the end of this month.
His first F1 team- Haas, picked another controversy when they introduced their latest 2021 livery, which allegedly resembled the Russian flag.
However, Schumacher doesn’t view the livery similarly, rather for him, it is just the team’s colours, describing his opinion to the Autosport in the recent interview.
“I think it’s just the team colours. The car looks great. It looks feisty, and it’s a beast. And that’s how we will operate as a team this year,” said Schumacher.
Though, Haas, as an American team, was joked upon for allegedly adopting the Russian colours. Haas’ new driver, Nikita Mazepin, is also Russian and was also left on a warning for his sexual harassment case, which didn’t go well with the public.
But Haas was unlikely to take a step against Mazepin, as his participation with the team brings a huge stream of his familial wealth to the team.
I need to deliver perfection.
Whilst Mazepin has been surrounded by controversies ever since he stepped into the F1. Schumacher has been adored for multiple reasons. Now, it is time for him to justify the affection he has been receiving.
“It’s now about getting all the details right. I have to be perfect from now on and make sure I deliver perfection for the team every time I go out on the track,” he said.
Haas played a risky game by hiring two rookie drivers, but it had to do it to keep its team afloat in F1 for an upcoming couple of years, at least.
