“Whoever is still talking about me, they can just kick rocks”: Anthony Edwards is supremely confident as the no. 1 pick following Timberwolves win over Damian Lillard and the Blazers
Anthony Edwards remains confident in the Timberwolves taking him with the 1st overall pick after dropping 34 points on the Blazers.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been outright abysmal this 2020-21 NBA season. Seems as though everything went downhill for the T-Wolves after that dreaded tweet, sarcastically calling out their haters in 2019 after a 7-4 start to the season.
To be fair, the Wolves haven’t been a top-tier team in decades. The entirety of their history in the NBA hinges on Kevin Garnett’s 2003-04 MVP season.
A silver lining to the Wolves’ regular season woes is their number 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards, who has been sensational in his rookie year. After a slow start to his rookie season, Edwards has begun to post up numbers that are undoubtedly ‘Rookie of the Year’ worthy.
After dropping a light 34 points on the Portland TrailBlazers, Anthony Edwards let everybody know that the Minnesota TimberWolves did right by their franchise by selecting him with the number 1 overall pick.
Anthony Edwards says nobody can say anything about him being taken number 1 overall
Anthony Edwards has proven to be a legit 3-level scorer. Though he hasn’t been shooting lights out from mid-range, he has shown that he can stretch the floor, knocking down 3s at a respectable clip. ‘Ant-Man’ has also been repeatedly showcasing his ability to enter quite literally, rarified air as he’s been throwing down dunks on everybody as of late.
Following the win over the Blazers last night, Edwards remained confident in his abilities to be the best out of the 2020 Draft class, saying, “Whoever is still talking about that, they can just kick rocks.”

It seems like Anthony Edwards didn’t take too kindly to the fact that people have already started to crown LaMelo Ball as the undisputed Rookie of the Year.
Though LaMelo Ball has been the best rookie out of this draft class as of yet, Edwards has plenty of games to prove his case for why he should receive ROTY honors in place of the Hornets star.
