“Shaquille O’Neal, you’d be Penny White, Rudy Gobert would dominate you”: Charles Barkley hilariously roasts Lakers legend for beef with Jazz star

Charles Barkley put a hilarious punctuation to the frankly childish beef that Shaquille O’Neal is trying to spark with Rudy Gobert.

Since the turn of the year, Shaq has taken on a new center to take shots at – Rudy Gobert, the Stifle Tower. The Frenchman recently signed a max contract to the tune of over $200 million with the Jazz. This will keep him at the franchise till the end of his prime.

Gobert is a limited offensive player when you compare him to other bigs on his pay scale. Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns are all amazing scorers in their own right. While Gobert is the foundation of what has been the league’s best defense over the years, it is not often that a defensive specialist gets paid max dollars.

To point this out once or twice would have been enough criticism, but Shaq has simply refused to stop talking about this.

Charles Barkley ridicules Shaquille O’Neal over petty beef with Rudy Gobert

Chuck shot down Shaq on last night’s Inside the NBA segment. The Round Mound of Rebound threw some verbal wrecking balls Shaq’s way:

“And just for the record you couldn’t play in today’s game… because they shoot threes you wouldn’t even get in the game today.”

“Rudy Gobert would dominate you. We don’t call him Shaquille O’Neal. We call him Petty White around here.”

Notably, Shaq sobered a bit after that through the course of the night and didn’t go after Rudy all that much. Perhaps he realized that the other 3 would simply shut him up with insult after insult if he broached the subject again.
