“Joel Embiid is the MVP because the Sixers lost by 35 without him”: Celtics legend Paul Pierce commits the Shaqtin-a-Fool offense on live TV
Paul Pierce has a hilarious reaction to the Philadelphia 76ers’ blowout win against San Antonio Spurs without Joel Embiid.
Joel Embiid is having by far his best season. The player’s current averages stand at 29.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He is doing so on shooting splits of 52.5% from the field, and 42.2% from beyond the arc. Remarkable numbers indeed.
Unfortunately, the player recently suffered a knee injury in a recent game and had to sit out against the Spurs. The worst was expected by the NBA community, but fans will be happy to know JoJo should be back in a few weeks.
What fans may not like is though, is that Joel Embiid’s MVP chances may have just taken a massive hit. But Paul Pierce’s reaction to what caused it may just send them rolling in laughter.
Paul Pierce believes Philadelphia 76ers lost by 35 points to the San Antonio Spurs without Joel Embiid
Paul Pierce is evidently a strong believer in Joel Embiid’s case for MVP, as many are this season. So, when the star had to sit out the game against the Spurs, he probably believed the 76ers would be lost without him.
What came next on TV may just have the potential to become an entry on ‘Shaqtin-a-fool’ despite not even being on an NBA court.
Paul Pierce thinks Sixers lose to Spurs says Joel Embiid deserves MVP.

The truth’s reaction is hilarious indeed. But we don’t particularly agree with his comments that came after. After realizing, Pierce said that maybe Embiid may not be an MVP candidate after all due to the 76ers’ result.
The problem here is, the San Antonio Spurs were also missing a notable star in DeMar DeRozan during this game. Without him, the team’s offensive firepower is essentially cut in half. And so, even a blowout win against the Spurs can’t be a good assessment of how valuable Embiid really is to the 76ers.
