‘We have to stop getting blown out by teams’: Stephen Curry expresses his frustration after a 31-point blowout against LeBron James’ Lakers

After a 128-97 loss to the Lakers last night, Stephen Curry wants his Warriors team to play better defense down the stretch of games.

Although, the Warriors had one of their worst nightmares last season. Stars like Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry were out for practically the whole season. Due to this, the Warriors had the worst record in the Western Conference. This season, with the return of a healthy Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, Golden State look back to bounce back from last season’s disaster.

On Monday night, the Warriors hosted LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center. With a disastrous 128-97 loss, Golden State endured yet another massive blow this season.

Finishing the game with 27 points and 3 rebounds in 29 points, Curry vented out his frustrations. The 7-time All-Star wanted his team to have some pride when they play. He added:

“Honestly, we have to get sick of getting blown out because that’s embarrassing. We have to have some pride about how we’re playing. You can lose games, that’s going to happen, but not like that.”

“I don’t think it’s a bad thing to admit that there’s a lot of pressure on us as a team to win.”

‘We have to take care of business on this road trip’: Stephen Curry

Despite not having their All-Star Anthony Davis, the King James-led Lakers managed to hand Steve Kerr’s side a massive loss. In their previous game, Golden State beat the Jazz with a comfortable 131-119 win. After the loss yesterday, Kerr stated:

“These last two days define our team in a lot of ways. In a span of 36 hours, we beat the team with the best record in the league, then lost by 31 points to another great team. We’re 20-20 for a reason.”

“They had 68 points in the paint. That’s unheard of. They got anything they wanted.”

It is absolutely necessary for the rest of the Warriors to support their All-Star, who is having an MVP level season. In order for them to win more games, a lot of energy is needed to be brought to every match.

With a 20-20 record, the Warriors will now place 9th in the tough Western Conference. They now start their 3-game road trip against John Wall and the Rockets on Thursday night. As Steph mentioned the Warriors will have to ‘take care business on this road trip’ to find themselves in a good position.
