‘If I come back in the NBA, I want to be Jordan Clarkson’: Dwyane Wade explained why he would be like the Jazz guard rather than a superstar if returned to the league

Dwyane Wade revealed that he’d love to play the role of Jordan Clarkson on the Utah Jazz if given a chance in today’s league.

Ever since Dwyane Wade was drafted as the 3rd pick in the 2003 Draft, he showed potential to be a distinguished player in the league. Since then, he has been considered as one of the greats to play the game. The 13-time All-Star was an offensive threat as well as a defensive genius night in, night out.

Although, back in 2019, after 16 long seasons, Wade decided to hang up his boots. He left the game as one of the fastest and best to play the shooting guard position.

But if he ever did stage a comeback, he revealed which player’s role he’d like the best:

“If I could come back, in the NBA, I want to be Jordan Clarkson. I don’t want to be a superstar because I want to keep my knees good & all that. I want to be Jordan Clarkson: come off the bench, shoot it anytime I want, ultra-green light, dress fly as hell, just go home after & chill.”

‘Keep doing what you’re doing’: Dwayne Wade appreciates Jordan Clarkson for his role on the Jazz

In only his seventh season Clarkson is now playing for his 3rd NBA team. On Tuesday night, Jazz secured a comfortable 117-109 over Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. Clarkson had yet another impressive 20-point and 3-assists game to help his team.

Following the match, Dwyane Wade had some high praise for the shooter. Wade told JC:

“Before the game ended, I talked about it at halftime, if I can come back and be an NBA player I want to be Jordan Clarkson because I love your role man. I love the way that you come in and get right to it.”

“You take it seriously. But I also love your style, your fashion off the court man so I’m a big fan. I just want to say keep what you’re doing man and keep going.”

The 6-foot-4 combo guard has been phenomenal coming off the bench for the team. He has been the front runner to win the Sixth Man of the Year award. Due to the energy, he brings on the court, off the bench, the Jazz has the best record in the league. Clarkson should continue to be the player he is, to help his team go deep in the playoffs.
