AEW star says Triple H avoided facing him at a WWE PPV. The two were involved in a storyline back in 2013 with no pay off.

Back in 2013, Paul Wight, then known as the Big Show, was involved in a storyline with the Triple H led Authority during his time in the WWE. The two legends had several altercations with each other but never came to blows in an actual match.

While speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Wight claimed that the fans would have loved to see a fight between the two inside the ring. However, Triple H was not too keen on putting the 500 pounder over. Instead, it was enough for him to get knocked out by Wight during a confrontation on RAW.

“The whole angle with Hunter [Triple H] that one time, the fans went crazy because Hunter and I got into a big look on the ramp when they [The Authority] were running the company and all that stuff and scr*wing the guys over. Just off a look the fans wanted to see it. So we built that up and all that, and it never turned into a match. Hunter didn’t want to wrestle me at SummerSlam, didn’t want to put me over at a pay-per-view. ‘There’s not going to be a match. You get to knock me out and that’s the end of it.’ And that’s what happened.”

Wight did not get to face Triple H but he did fight the face of the faction, Randy Orton, for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series that year. He would later go on to join the authority himself a year later at Survivor Series 2014.
