“LaVar Ball is making it much harder on Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball”: Skip Bayless warns the Ballfather for his comments on Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr and the Warriors
Skip Bayless takes to Twitter to say that LaVar Ball is putting too much pressure on Lonzo and LaMelo by taking shots at the Pelicans and MJ.
After having gone relatively under the radar for a while, LaVar Ball is looking to making headlines once again. The statements he’s been making on behalf of both Lonzo and LaMelo can be best characterized as negative and ‘out there’.
For starters, LaVar came out a while back in favor of his youngest son LaMelo not keeping in touch with Hornets owner Michael Jordan for any advice regarding his young career and how to navigate through it.
Whether this statement was fueled by his own ego or his belief that he can guide LaMelo down a better path, is not known.
Now, he has put out a statement that Lonzo Ball ‘hates’ it in New Orleans and wants to be traded away from the Pelicans come March 25th. Skip Bayless does not seem too pleased with LaVar Ball’s recent statements.
Skip Bayless is displeased with LaVar Ball
Skip unleashed a near 3-minute rant on why he believes LaVar Ball is causing more detriment to Lonzo and LaMelo’s career, than doing them good.

What Skip is saying here holds quite a bit of validity to it. LaVar Ball’s outlandish statements about Lonzo Ball already being better than Steph Curry during his stint with the Lakers, coupled with the immense pressure of bring the Lakers back to its glory days, is what led to his departure from the franchise. The pressure put onto him was placed on his shoulders by none other than LaVar.
This is not to bash LaVar. He has accomplished more than most fathers do by getting 2 out of his 3 sons into the NBA. He has, however, been borderline manipulating his sons’ careers from behind the scenes due to his statements.
Right on cue with his take on Lonzo reportedly wanting out of New Orleans, news has broken that the Clippers will ‘aggressively’ pursue the oldest Ball brother before the March 25th trade deadline.
