Stephen Curry chips in with some encouragement for James Wiseman: “I was searching for frat parties at Davidson when I was 19”
Stephen Curry thinks that James Wiseman is doing mighty fine as a 19-year-old in the NBA. He cited his own time at Davidson to underline this.
The Golden State Warriors broke a 4-game losing streak with a comfortable win over Chicago on Monday night. Curry had himself some of the most effortless 32 points we’ve ever seen him drop.
This Warriors team is rallying behind its unanimous MVP and they desperately need him to be his MVP self. At the same time, they also need Steph’s supporting cast to step up to the plate and prove themselves.
However, Curry and his Warriors know that they’re currently in a rebuilding stage. A couple of losses should not offset the development of youngsters like James Wiseman, Eric Paschall and Nico Mannion.
Stephen Curry praises James Wiseman for his attitude at a tender age
James Wiseman has had a steep learning curve ever since turning pro. He barely played in his single season with the Memphis Tigers, but he’s already shown a very high upside.
Stephen Curry thinks he’s got a lot of time to improve, and he wants Wiseman to embrace the process:
“I was searching for frat parties at Davidson right about now. We just lost to Maryland in the NCAA Tournament around this time in 2007. I was doing a lot of different things so this is an amazing opportunity, it’s a big responsibility.”
“When you see James Wiseman at age 19, do you ever think back when you were 19 what would you be doing?”

“This is the beginning of a long, long career for him. He has gotta just embrace the process of what it means to establish himself as an NBA player.”
