Senior NBA Insider Chris Haynes talks about LeMarcus Aldridge and his sudden retirement, points out how health is the top priority.

Last night LeMarcus Aldridge took the NBA world by surprise when he announced his retirement out of the blue. In the letter that he shared on Twitter, Aldridge cited heart reasons for him suddenly hanging up his boots.

His retirement came as a sudden shock to everyone. A lot of people in the NBA family wished Aldridge the best of luck for his future, while others claimed he had to give up the game too soon. Damian Lillard went on to say that the Blazers should retire the #12 jersey in Aldridge’s honor.

Chris Haynes talks about the severity of LeMarcus Aldridge’s condition

Chris Haynes was on Undisputed last night when the news of LeMarcus Aldridge announcing his retirement came out. There he sat and talked to Skip and Shannon about the same.

According to Haynes, this was the best shot LeMarcus Aldridge has had in his career to win a ring. The Brooklyn Nets invited him and asked him to start while playing his natural game.

What Haynes says makes total sense. For LeMarcus to hang up his boots right now, it must mean that the condition is serious. At the end of the day, it is more important for Aldridge to stay alright, for his family, than to play basketball. Thankfully the condition was realized before things got too serious.
