“You messed up, Philly”: Stephen A Smith explains why Sixers fans might be doomed for their ‘Kevin Durant sucks’ chants in their game against Brooklyn Nets
Stephen A Smith thinks that Philly fans messed up by jeering Kevin Durant. Joel Embiid and co won a tight game 123-117 on Wednesday.
Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and James Harden were all out for this marquee ‘Top of the East’ bout. This put the load squarely on Kyrie Irving’s shoulder for the night.
Kyrie compiled a 37-point night, knocking down all kinds of crazy shots from all over the floor. There were points when even elite defenders like Ben Simmons and Matisse Thybulle looked helpless against him.
He served up a stern warning for the Sixers about how even one of the Nets’ Big Three could singlehandedly win a playoff game for them. Though Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris took them to the W, they would’ve been playing for a blowout.
Stephen A Smith lambasts 76ers fans for ‘Kevin Durant sucks’ chants
ESPN veteran anchor Stephen A Smith did not think Philly fans made a smart move. They began booing KD, starting chants of “KD sucks” as Joel Embiid shot a free throw during the game.
It was a sight to behold, but it was also a sign that Philly fans aren’t afraid of their competition. It might come back to bite them later on, however, as Stephen A pointed out.
“You messed up big time, Philly. I’m not talking about the outcome of last night’s game. You managed to hang on for a win last night, even though you allowed Brooklyn to go on a 21-2 run late. But I’m not here to talk about that.”

“You messed up when you dared to boo KDtrey. Do I have to remind you who Kevin Durant is? This is a man who looks for slander wherever he can find it. This is a man who searches his name on social media and gets into Twitter fights with teenagers. Then he goes out and drops 40.”
“You done messed up, Philly. You done messed up.”
