“LeBron James and the Lakers are in REAL Trouble”: Shannon Sharpe shows concern about the defending champions after their loss to the Raptors
Co-host of The Undefeated, Shannon Sharpe is concerned about the Los Angeles Lakers amidst their struggles late in the season
The Los Angeles Lakers have hit a rough patch in the final part of the regular season. The Lakers head into the final eight games of the season with a three-game losing streak to their name. With their performance recently, they have dived further below, and are now on the 7th spot in the West. This puts them in a position to compete in the play-in games. While the Lakers would be hard to beat in such a situation, that did not shy away LeBron James from voicing his opinions about the play-in games.
While the Lakers have had LeBron James back for two games, he looks nowhere close to his 100%. In the two games he has played, LBJ has averaged 17.5 points, was shooting a little under 50% from the field, and only 30% from the distance.
“The Lakers are in real trouble”: Shannon Sharpe
The Los Angels Lakers are struggling. After a strong start in their game against the Raptors, they blew a 12 point lead and allowed for a 40 point second quarter. That led them to trail by 13 at the half. Shannon Sharpe pointed this and quite a lot of things that are not clicking for the defending champions.
Sharpe mentioned how the Lakers have been going on multiple 2-3 minutes+ scoring droughts during every game. While the case wouldn’t be so bad if they were also choking their opponent, this period is often utilized by the opponents to go on big scoring runs and turn the game around. He also pointed out how the King is not at his best after his return from injury.

Another big concern for the Lakers has been Anthony Davis and his shooting. The 27-year-old has barely been shooting at 38% since his return from injury. While the Lakers hoped AD would step up and lead the team, he hasn’t quite been able to take on the mantle.
If the Lakers cannot sort out their issues soon, their chances of defending their titles would diminish even further. The teams in the Western play-in games bracket all can give the Lakers a run for their money.
