“By the time G3 comes out I’ll be 54 yrs old” – Dave Batista hints at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 being his last gig as Drax
Dave Batista hints at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 being his last gig as Drax. The former WWE Star has portrayed the character in the MCU movies.
When it comes to the basics, wrestling is very similar to acting in movies. However, very few wrestlers have succesfully transtitioned to the silver screen. Dave Batista is in this select list with a very good collection of movies under his belt.

The most popular role in his arsenal is undoubtedly Drax from the Gaurdians of the Galaxy series. Batista has portrayed the Marvel Superhero in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise, and in subsequent movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it seems that he may not continue playing the role for too long.
Dave Batista hints at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 being his last gig as Drax
IGN recently posted a tweet suggesting that the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may be the last time we see Drax in the MCU.
Batista replied to the post clarifying that the character would remain but will not be portraying the superhero anymore.
Drax isn’t going anywhere. He just won’t be played by this dude! 🤷🏻♂️by the time G3 comes out I’ll be 54 yrs old for gods sake! 😱 im expecting everything to start sagging any second now. 😂 https://t.co/eRJR6ZPtE2

While there is no reason to believe that Batista may no longer be able to remain in shape in the coming years, it is very possible that he may be feeling burned out after portraying the character for seven years.
Drax was an almost unknown commodity when the series began. Batista’s portrayal of the character as a strong but unintentionally funny character endeared him to fans. If he does quit the franchise, he will surely be missed and anyone that replaces him will have large shoes to fill.
