“Tim Tebow Is the most competitive maniac you’re ever gonna talk to and let’s give it a shot.” Jags HC urban Meyer opens up on the reasoning behind reuniting with Tim Tebow
Former QB Tim Tebow made headlines yesterday after it was reported that he would sign a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the coming weeks. Many among the NFL circles questioned whether it was worth bringing back Tebow, especially since he was trying out as a TE. But his former HC Urban Meyer has faith in him.
It’s been more than eight years since Tim Tebow last took an NFL snap, but he can still cause a stir. The 33-year-old former QB for the Broncos and the Jets spent his collegiate career playing under Urban Meyers for the Florida Gators. He won the Heisman Trophy and 2 national championships during his tenure, so it’s no secret that he and Urban Meyer hold a special relationship.

Urban Meyer believes Tim Tebow is the fittest he has ever been.
With so many questioning the pending move, Meyer explained the decision to reunite with Tebow. According to the Jaguars coach, Tebow is in the best shape of his life and is a workout maniac.
“We have not signed Tim,” Meyer clarified on the Cris Collinsworth PFF Podcast. “There’s a thought going around. He was in the best shape of his life, asked to see if he could work out with a couple of our coaches. I wasn’t even there. They came back to me and said, ‘Wow, this guy’s in incredible shape.’ Then I went another time and watched them try him out.”
“And they said go work on these things, he comes back later. They try him out again, I’m not there, they come in and they said, ‘Wow, this guy’s ball skills, he’s a great athlete, he looks like he’s 18-years-old, not 20, whatever he is, 33. I said, ‘Guys you don’t understand, now this guy is, he’s the most competitive maniac you’re ever gonna talk to and let’s give it a shot.”

Tebow has always been a hard worker and a freak athlete, but that doesn’t really mean he deserves a shot again in the NFL at a different position than he has ever played. So Tebow in Jacksonville will definitely be very interesting to see in 2021.
