“Los Angeles Clippers, you should be ashamed!”: Stephen A Smith berated Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and co for tanking the final two games of the season
Senior NBA Analyst Stephen A Smith claims the Clippers should be ashamed of themselves for tanking their final games of the season
The Los Angeles Clippers ended their regular season campaign on a losing note. The Clippers lost the game against the Houston Rockets, and then against the OKC Thunder to wrap up their season. The Clippers did rest their stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the final two games. However, they had a shot at the third seed, if they did not lose their final two games.
The Denver Nuggets and the LA Clippers finished the season with the same record, but the Nuggets held the tiebreaker, securing them the third spot. The Clippers lost their final two games, and the Nuggets lost their last game. However, if the Clippers were to win either of the two games, they would have secured the third seed in the West.
Stephen A Smith goes off about the Clippers losing their games
The Clippers could have been facing the 6th seeded team if they managed to win and get to the third spot. The Lakers had a chance to make it to the 6th seed on Sunday, had the Blazers not ended up winning.
Stephen A Smith is not someone who’s known to mince his words. He gave his honest thoughts about the way the Clippers finished their season, and why they would have done so. According to Smith, the Clippers tanked on purpose, to not face the Lakers.

Stephen A believes that the Clippers, who made claims about being the best in LA, are scared to face the Lakers. This comes as anti-climatic, and much to the way Clippers have always been. It is now up to the Clippers to prove these claims wrong. They need to have a strong post-season and give the Lakers a run for their money.
