Indian cricketers COVID-19 vaccine: A lot of prominent Indian cricketers had uploaded posts of receiving their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
It was from the onset of this month that people aged between 18-45 started to receive COVID-19 vaccines in India. As a result, members of the Indian cricket team were also eligible for their first jab and a lot of them took to social media platforms to upload posts of them getting vaccinated.
With Indian Premier League 2021 postponed midway through its 14th season and the team scheduled to leave for England on June 2, it was an apt period for the players with respect to getting vaccinated.

Considering how the COVID-19 vaccine comprises of two doses separated by a time period, the question which arises around the Indian players is the timing of their second dose.

Speaking to ANI, a source close to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) disclosed that the UK health department will administer the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine for the Indian players.
“The team has already taken the first dose here after the government opened the vaccination process for all above 18. The second dost will be administered by the UK health department once the players are eligible to get the second jab as per rules,” a source close to the BCCI was quoted as saying by ANI.

After undergoing a mandatory two-week quarantine in Mumbai, players will undergo another 10-day quarantine in Southampton where the final match of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship will be played.
In what will be a three and a half month-long tour for the Indian Test team, they will follow the iconic final match at Ageas Bowl with a five-match Test series against England which will finish as late as September 2021.
