Middlesex cricket: Daryl Mitchell to represent Middlesex in maiden T20 Blast stint
Daryl Mitchell to represent Middlesex: The dynamic all-rounder from New Zealand is all set to debut for Middlesex in T20 Blast 2021.
New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell will play for Middlesex in his maiden season of T20 Blast. The development was announced by Middlesex via a media release a couple of hours ago.
Mitchell, who has played 22 matches across formats at the highest level, has been roped in as a replacement for Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who will be on national duty on the tour of West Indies.

Set to play a significant role in the second half of T20 Blast 2021 at Middlesex, this will also be Mitchell’s first T20 tournament outside New Zealand.
In 108 T20s, Mitchell has scored 2,110 runs at an average and strike rate of 31.49 and 130.48 respectively including eight half-centuries. With his medium-pace, Mitchell’s 48 T20 wickets have come at an economy and strike rate of 9.01 and 16.20.

“He brings an all-round game, with a focus on power hitting, and good cricket intellect. We look forward to welcoming him into the Middlesex family and can’t wait to start working with him during the Blast,” Middlesex head coach Stuart Law said in a statement.

“I am really honoured to have signed with Middlesex and to be able to call Lord’s my home for the Vitality Blast. I’m looking forward to meeting up with the group after our Test Championship final versus India and getting stuck into winning some t20 cricket,” Mitchell said in a statement on the signing.
