WWE planning John Cena return soon. The Leader of Cenation has not been on Television since Wrestlemania 36 last year.
John Cena vs Bray Wyatt was the last time fans got to see the former WWE Champion on WWE Television. Cena lost the Firefly Funhouse match and has yet to reappear on any WWE weekly show. He even missed out on Wrestlemania this year.

Cena’s obligations to film the Peacemaker spin-off for HBO Max in Canada during WrestleMania season kept him away from the Grandest Stage. Canada’s strict COVID-19 protocol made it impossible for him to appear on the show. But there’s good news for fans.

In an update by F4Wonline.com, the WWE are discussing John Cena’s WWE return. The working idea is to have him on the first show back with fans in the crowd, which would be the July 16 edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX, airing live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
“Regarding talk of John Cena being on the first WWE show back with fans on 7/16, I was told that this is still being discussed.”
The July 16th show is the go home show before Money in the Bank PPV which will air on Sunday, July 18 at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. It was not noted if there is any plan for Cena to get involved in the pay-per-view. This could just be a one-off appearance.
Cena recently spoke about a WWE return admitting that he really wants to get back to WWE.
“I really, really want to get back to WWE. I really want audiences to get back to WWE. Heck I’m with everybody I think around the world saying I just want the world to get back to normal, but these are interesting times and I have a lot of interesting opportunities at my feet, and I really do appreciate the WWE universe understanding that after so many years of…”
Well, the fans are coming back now, does this mean Cena will too?
