“LeBron James is right to take a stand against Big Pharma”: Lakers star finds support for his silence on Covid vaccination from an unlikely source
Candace Owens has normally criticized any and everything that LeBron James speaks about. But it’s his silence that’s earned her praise.
Owens is a Republican party supporter who is often tagged as representative of the black woman demographic of their voters. She has a major platform through her social media and TV appearances to talk about various political issues.
Like many other Republican party supporters, Owens has often been critical of celebrities like LeBron James when it comes to movements like BLM. But she’s chipped in with her support to his neutrality about the Covid-19 vaccines on a recent tweet.
“No league, no job and no school ever has the right to demand you take an experimental vaccine that is not FDA-approved and has no long term trials. Lebron James is right to take a stand against Big Pharma. This is an issue that needs to be brought before the Supreme Court.”

Does it matter if LeBron James speaks about the vaccination personally?
The Covid-19 vaccination drive has reached over 60% of eligible adults in USA today. Cases across the country are now dropping to manageable levels, enabling people to lead their lives with a greater degree of normalcy.
Sporting arenas and sports fandoms have been prime beneficiaries of this. The NBA playoffs are now upon us, and teams like the Brooklyn Nets have already played host to 14000+ fans.
However, some people have been slow to get with the vaccination program. Their arguments range from a general distrust of pharmaceutical companies to concern about the vaccine’s long-term effects.
This crowd has caused a major slowdown in the vaccination program, which has already reached 161 adults in the country. At this time, businesses are offering employees paid leaves and even financial incentives to get vaccinated. This has had little effect on the drive thus far.
LeBron is not the first celebrity to refuse to speak about the vaccine, nor the most visible anti-vaxxer. It’s more important to focus on those spreading disinformation.
