“Chris Paul shouted ‘I’m back’ at LeBron James”: NBA fans react to Suns star declaring that he’s back to full fitness in Game 4 win vs Lakers

Chris Paul hasn’t clicked so far in the Suns’ first round series against the Lakers. But when he has gotten going, he’s let everyone know.

The Phoenix Suns stormed back to retake homecourt advantage with a win at Staples Center today. They began the first quarter on practically an even footing before surrendering an 11-point lead to start the second.

But after that point, when they were down 36-25, the Suns turned the game on its head. They retook the lead shortly after their first timeout in the second as LeBron sat on the bench. James came back to the game with the scores at 43-40 in the Suns’ favor.

The 4-time champion, however, couldn’t do much to close the quarter out. Phoenix went into the locker room holding a 4-point halftime lead with the scores at 54-50.

What transpired after that gave the Suns a blowout victory even though they didn’t play good offense in the second half. Anthony Davis injured his groin and did not reenter the game after halftime, so that was that for the Lakers’ comeback hopes.

The Lakers would’ve normally used a timeout earlier in the 3rd quarter than Frank Vogel eventually did. They gave up a huge run to the Suns to start the period off as it became a 7-8 possession game soon after the restart.

Before Vogel called his players to the bench, he was treated to some vintage offense by Chris Paul. CP3 got the switch onto Drummond and began bobbing and weaving.

Soon, he found himself at his trademark elbow junction on the right side of the floor. We all know what happens next. But if you don’t, you can see the outcome of the most reliable mid-range player in basketball taking on a center.

Paul turned to the Lakers, letting them know that the Staples Center used to once be his own happy hunting grounds. And we can’t fault him one bit for his demeanour.
