“We’re Up To The Challenge”: Patrick Mahomes Would Be Unfazed By Aaron Rodgers Joining The Rival Denver Broncos, Says It Would Be “Awesome”
Patrick Mahomes isn’t one to back down from challenges. Even Aaron Rodgers joining the AFC West isn’t enough to intimidate or rattle Mahomes’ confidence.
In fact, Rodgers signing with the Denver Broncos would be just the opposite for Pat Mahomes. He’d love to welcome Rodgers on as a rival competitor. Of course, being in the AFC West together, the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos face off twice a year.
That means if the trade rumors do come true, and Aaron Rodgers does get traded to the Denver Broncos, we’d get to see Mahomes vs. Rodgers twice a year instead of the regularly slated once-every-four-years-game. Wouldn’t that be a treat for us NFL fans?
Of course, that’s still a ways away from happening (if it ever does), but in the meantime we can only speculate. Patrick Mahomes wouldn’t be scared of Rodgers’ presence, however, as he has complete confidence in his team to unseat the reigning NFL MVP.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Aaron Rodgers Would Dominate QB Matchups, As It Already Does
The NFL has thankfully given us one opportunity to see the two former MVP’s go at it this year. In the additional 17th game that was added this year, the NFL scheduled the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers to play each other.
That game will take place on week 9. Assuming Aaron Rodgers suits up for the Packers this year, they’ll be travelling to Arrowhead Stadium to take on Patrick Mahomes and company.
When asked about the possibility of seeing Rodgers twice a year, Mahomes didn’t shy away from offering praise. He knows how great Rodgers is and would gladly welcome the battle:
“Obviously, it’d be awesome. To have that challenge … two times a year, every single year would be a great, great opportunity. I mean, he’s a heck of a football player. He’s been doing it for a long time that I’ve watched play and learned a lot from. But definitely, if he came to the AFC West, it would just make it a little tougher for us, but we’re up to the challenge.”
These divisional games would dominate headlines year in and year out. There are now two quarterbacks that match up as well together as Rodgers and Mahomes.
