Real Reason why WWE Released Braun Strowman. The former Universal Champion was released alongside five other wrestlers today.

Since his inception into the Wyatt Family, it was obvious that Braun Strowman was WWE’s future. He was everything Vince McMahon wants in his wrestlers. Soon enough, he went on to become one of the most popular stars in the promotion.

Strowman captured the tag team titles, Intercontinental Championship and eventually the Universal Championship. He was a top player in the promotion. To many, he seemed like he could be a WWE lifer. Unfortunately, the Monster among Men was released today, pulling the curtain on his WWE career, for now at least.

Real Reason why WWE Released Braun Strowman

Yes, Strowman was one of the big time players in the promotion, but he was also paid as such. According to Fightful Select, he was released due to his previous contract he signed back in 2019 until 2023. He was reportedly earning more than $1 million per year.

According to the report, some of the released talent had requested for a release. It is not knowm if Strowman was among them. He was reportedly “very private about negotiating the deal until it was finalized.”

Strawman is a a one-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time RAW Tag Team Champion, the 2019 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, the Greatest Royal Rumble winner, and the 2018 Men’s Money In the Bank winner.

It will be interesting to see where he goes from year. He could realistically be a big name in any promotion he chooses to join. He has also previously espressed an interest in participating in body building competitions. For now though, he will first have to get through his 90-day non-compete clause.
