“Damian Lillard liked a tweet saying Blazers’ season will end tonight”: MVP candidate appears to be playing mind games with Nuggets fans on Twitter ahead of Game 6 vs Nikola Jokic and co
Damian Lillard seems to be playing mind games with Nuggets fans, judging from their reaction to his social media activity.
The Denver Nuggets can seal a berth in the second round with a win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 6. Damian Lillard tried his level best to try and guide the Blazers late in Game 5. His performance with 12 3-pointers on the night ranks among the greatest in playoff history.
While it didn’t lead the Blazers to the W on the night, it will have filled his camp with tons of confidence. Portland have been a pretty good home team over the past few seasons. They were able to take the W in Game 6 even back in 2019, so history is on their side today.
However, it’ll take them another Herculean effort to seal a win in Game 6. They won Game 4 in a blowout when the Nuggets went ice cold from range. Such bad shooting nights don’t tend to happen twice to teams with an MVP in their ranks.

Dame was clearly locked in on a whole other level 2 days ago. All-time greats like Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry went so far as to describe Dame’s night as a spiritual experience. And to those who love basketball irrespective of their team affiliations, it really was one.
However, it seems that Dame Dolla is looking out for slander ahead of Game 6 in Portland today. A Reddit NBA user has posted about his social media activity, concerned that he seems to be trolling the Nuggets:
“Man this guy is playing fucking mind games out here. I have no doubt he getting another 50 piece while acting all sad and disheartened. We’ve seen this bullshit before man, I ain’t buying this at all. His own way of reverse jinxing I guess.”
Hate to say it, but I think tonight will bring a merciful end to the Blazers season. Hard to see a recovery after that Game 5 meltdown. 1. 2. 3…. you know the rest. #RipCity

Yes, u/AntivaxKD, it does seem like Lillard is using this Twitter post as motivation ahead of Game 6. Would this affect his performance in the game? I’m inclined to believe so. Some superstars are looking for external motivation from anywhere in order to perform at their best. Lillard seems to be falling in that same category.
