Montez Sweat has openly discussed his hesitance in taking the Covid-19 vaccine. Sweat believes he doesn’t need to treat Covid till he actually gets it.
The subject of getting vaccinated is a worldwide issue. While some countries face shortages and can’t afford to give their population the vaccine, in other countries people feel as if avoiding the process is all the better.
Montez Sweat is one of those people. The Washington Football Team defensive end believes he’s entitled to his decisions and opinions.
However, Sweat isn’t the only player in the NFL who’s shown a reluctance to being vaccinated. Earlier, several members of the Bills refused to comment on the vaccine and their GM was scared not enough of them were being vaccinated.
Montez Sweat Not A Fan Of The Vaccine, Forces Ron Rivera To Call In Experts
Despite, Sweat’s hesitance, Washington’s head coach Ron Rivera has maintained that the Football Team is nearing 50% vaccinated players. If WFT can reach that mark, it would be a great achievement.
Seeing Sweat’s hesitance though, Ron Rivera brought in vaccination experts to help quell some of the doubts and fears players may have.
Ron Rivera said they’re “nearing 50%” in vaccinated players. He said they brought in a “vaccine expert” to talk to players yesterday.

Well, it doesn’t look like the move has changed Sweat’s mind yet. The defensive end is firm in his belief that he doesn’t need to treat Covid till he gets it.
Rivera said they brought in vaccine experts. Montez Sweat says he’s not going to get the vaccine “until i get more facts. I’m not a fan of it. I haven’t caught Covid yet so I don’t see me treating Covid until I actually get Covid. Everybody is entitled to their own decision.”

Montez Sweat’s decision is a very controversial one as the push to get vaccinated is a strong cause worldwide. The pandemic is still not over, and the biggest weapon against it currently is the vaccine. Players should be looking to obtain the vaccine not just for their safety but for all the fans, players, and coaches they’ll interact with.
As of right now, the NFL hasn’t laid down any requirements for players getting vaccinated so Montez Sweat wouldn’t be punished if he held out. However, staff member and coaches are required to be vaccinated or they could lose certain privileges.
