Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2021 Preview: Bucs WR Mike Evans says he’s “thinking about earning another parade”

Mike Evans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are fresh off their Super Bowl LV victory. With all 22 starters returning, how high is their ceiling for 2021?

Tom Brady took the football world by storm last offseason when he left the Patriots after 2 decades and 6 rings. His move from Boston was initially seen as a little peculiar as Tampa Bay seemed like an unlikely landing spot.

It was clear that the Bucs had some real offensive talent to surround Brady, but realistically didn’t seem like they would go all the way, at least not in their first year.

What became apparent throughout the course of the regular season was that their defense, although young, was a force to be reckoned with. After recording an impressive 11-5 record, the Bucs dispatched Washington, New Orleans, and Green Bay before comfortably beating the Chiefs in the Super Bowl at home.

More good news came promptly for Tampa fans in the offseason, when the team managed to bring back all 22 starters. This is a feat that no Super Bowl winning team has accomplished since the 1970s.

Of course, it is expected that the Bucs will be in the playoffs again, possibly making another deep run. Their coaches and players have proven themselves to be winners.

One of these players, wideout Mike Evans, has said he has his sights set on repeating the Super Bowl victory.

Mike Evans: “I’m just thinking about that boat parade, and trying to get that again.”

Evans, a Bucs veteran who played a key role last year, certainly enjoyed the SB win. After the instant-classic boat parade, Evans celebrated in his hometown Galveston, Texas too.

He said that he has used those experiences to push himself in offseason workouts. “That boat parade was unbelievable, that was one of the best things I’ve ever seen,” Evans explained.

“And then to follow it up and have the parade in my city, that’s what I’m shooting for. When I’m out there tired, I’m just thinking about that boat parade and that parade in my city, and trying to get that again.”
