“LeBron James has embraced anti-American sentiments to improve his relationship with China”: Jason Whitlock denounces Lakers star’s association with Black Lives Matter
Jason Whitlock is among those who’ve made a career out of flaming LeBron James. He did it yet again on a recent podcast appearance.
LeBron James has been facing a ton of flak over the years for his social and political activism. Right wing voices in the United States of America are adamant that he’s shilling for Communists and left-wingers.
Anything that James does in the public eye (and many things that he does privately) are examined and broken down to a microscopic level in order to find fault with him. And those who’re looking for them will continue to find them.
Was LeBron downright wrong and misinformed in berating Daryl Morey over the ‘Free Hong Kong’ tweet? Yes he was, and perhaps he really was protecting Big Corporate when he did what he did.
But dismissing him, his social work and his ideas from the past for a single incident and then labeling him as a jock who doesn’t understand the workings of the world is the kind of thing that many news outlets have resorted to.
Jason Whitlock says LeBron James is protecting Nike’s interests in China through BLM
Whitlock was recently on the podcast called ‘The Truth with Lisa Boothe’. He talked at length about wokism, BLM and Chinese influences on the American public. In doing so, he also painted quite a picture of how American society is being influenced by Communist ideologues:
“All of our corporations want to improve their relationships with China. And so in the sports world, there’s nothing more powerful than Nike. It’s a 40 to $50 billion company. It’s bigger, more financially relevant, and stronger than the NFL and the NBA combined.”
“That’s why LeBron James, Colin Kaepernick, even Serena Williams, there are other spokesmen, they’ve embraced an anti-American sentiment in their public stances because this improves their relationship with China. And this is why they’re so fearful of ever speaking out against anything that goes on in China.”
It’s undoubtedly true that China is infiltrating major Western spaces with their propaganda tools. However, LeBron James is most certainly not using BLM to further the Chinese agenda. He’s doing it because he wants to help his community out.
