“The Clippers are better than the Lakers and Frank Vogel can’t coach”: Snoop Dogg goes off on LeBron James and co following their embarrassing Game 5 loss in Anthony Davis’s absence
Snoop Dogg takes to Instagram to let everybody know that he believes the Clippers and better than the Lakers following Game 5 loss.
An interesting development that’s taken place in the first round of these 2021 NBA Playoffs has been the reversal of the script for both Los Angeles teams. 3 games into the Lakers-Suns series, it felt as though the defending champs would make this a gentleman’s sweep. Looking over at the Clippers and most fans and analysts alike claimed the series was essentially over after going down 0-2 at home to the Mavs.
Injuries to both Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic have flipped the script for both teams. The Clippers have all the momentum in their series after winning games 3 and 4 on the road, and the Lakers are on the brink of elimination after dropping Game 5 in embarrassing fashion to Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns.
Snoop Dogg, who’s been an avid Lakers supporter since the 90s, has also shown a fair level of disrespect to the purple and gold’s ‘younger brother’ in the past. One of his most hilarious disses towards Steve Balmer’s crew was when he claimed the Clippers ranked below the pick up teams on Venice Beach in terms of significance.
Snoop Dogg admits that the Clippers are better than the Lakers.
A sudden change of heart for Snoop Dogg in relation to his feelings about the Lakers is quite unprecedented to say the least. After getting blown out in Game 5, the LA native took to Instagram to rant about how Frank Vogel can’t coach, Montrezl Harrell isn’t getting enough minutes, and most importantly, that the Clips are superior.

He also poked fun at Anthony Davis for his nagging injuries as he compared him being hurt to Mary J. Blige. This is of course a clever reference to Blige’s song, ‘Hurt Again’.
At this moment, Snoop is right in the fact that the Lakers look like a shell of themselves without LeBron James going into takeover mode and with Anthony Davis sidelined. The defensive schemes that Frank Vogel has been lauded for over the course of the season fell apart in Game 5 as they weren’t able to contain Devin Booker in the slightest.
With the 17x champs backed into a corner, it’ll be interesting to see how they respond. For Snoop Dogg’s sake, let’s hope the Lakers do not roll over as emphatically as they did last night.
