“Deandre Ayton’s dunk was an all-time robbery”: Skip Bayless indignant with NBA referees for blown out-of-bounds call in Clippers vs Suns Game 2
Skip Bayless alleges that NBA referees messed up the out-of-bounds call that led to Deandre Ayton dunking the game-winner.
The LA Clippers find themselves in their 3rd successive 0-2 hole of the series now. They’ve been in winning positions in both games, but the Suns’ young duo of Booker and Ayton have led Phoenix to wins with some amazing clutch play.
It was Ayton’s turn to snag the headlines today 0after he put up some dominant big man numbers. To top off, Ayton dunked in an inbounds lob to give the Suns a 1-point lead in the final seconds.
Much controversy has sprung up surrounding the closing stages of this game. There are tons of NBA fans who think referees messed up their call on the inbounds play. They also think that the referees should have blown the whistle on Ayton before the inbounds pass.
Skip Bayless says Deandre Ayton shouldn’t have been able to dunk the game-winner
As a Clippers fan this year, Skip Bayless was squarely in the ranks of the aggrieved tonight. He was rage-tweeting at the end of the game, which has now become a norm for him.
Skip explored how the referees seemed to make the wrong call on whether Crowder should’ve got the ball in inbound. He also tweeted about Ayton holding on to Ivica Zubac’s jersey in order to get an offensive advantage.
ALL-TIME ROBBERY. SERIES SHOULD BE 1-1. MISSED SUNS THREE WAS OBVIOUSLY OFF AYTON. TERANCE MANN STARTED CLAPPING IN CELEBRATION. HOW COULD THE REFS GIVE IT BACK TO PHOENIX? JUST MAKES ME PUKE.

Now Clippers fans are left to lick their wounds from how the game ended. Paul George will get the lion’s share of the blame for missing free throws and allowing the Suns a way back.
It doesn’t matter what happens on NBA Twitter and who says what. At the end of the day, the Suns took the W and 2-0 series lead. Likely to be buoyed by CP3’s presence next game, they will be looking to take a road win or two at Staples Center.
