“Charles Barkley, let me finish before you get knocked out”: Shaq gets into argument with Kenny Smith and Chuck on Inside the NBA
Shaquille O’Neal was in a pretty heated mood with both Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley on tonight’s Inside the NBA coverage.
Charles Barkley seems to have jinxed the Milwaukee Bucks, as he’s done with numerous other teams. They lost Game 1 at home, becoming the 3rd such team to get this treatment from the Hawks this postseason.
Trae Young led the way for the Hawks with an improbable tally of 48 points and 11 dimes. He had perhaps the best offensive highlight by a star guard these playoffs with his shimmy before a 3-pointer.
His efforts combined with some awesome interior play by Clint Capela and John Collins kept the Hawks within touching distance. They helped the Hawks claw back from a 7-point deficit with 4 minutes left.
Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal shit-talk each other at halftime of Game 1
The Milwaukee Bucks seemed to be in a good spot at halftime, holding a 5-point lead. But they certainly were nowhere close to the dominant team they’d need to be in order to get the sweep.
Shaquille O’Neal spotted some glaring weaknesses in how the Bucks were defending Trae Young and co. He and Chuck had a few choice words for coach Bud on Inside the NBA. They also had a few words to say to each other.

Shaq seemed to be on a mood to take on everyone else at the studio through today’s game as well. He was weirdly defensive about how Bobby Portis defended the pick-and-roll on the play where Trae Young hit a 3 and then shimmied.
Kenny Smith tried to talk a little basketball sense into the scene, but he was nowhere near successful. Perhaps Shaq doesn’t like to see the player he anointed as ‘Superman’ to fail this way.
