NFL Alternate Helmets: Which Teams Will Use NFL Throwback Helmets After NFL Approves Their Usage For 2022?
NFL alternate helmets are back! The NFL has reportedly allowed the usage of throwback helmets again after a long time ban on them.
The news broke via Adam Schefter on Twitter. The NFL had a weird helmet policy in place which only allowed teams to rock with one helmet throughout the entirety of a season. This meant that even with throwback uniforms, NFL teams had to resort to wearing their traditional helmets.
Of course, fans disapproved of the move because it meant less fun on the field, but the NFL has finally agreed to let teams bring back their old helmets.

There are so many possible designs for teams to work with. While we’re on the subject, let’s not forget about the Falcons old ‘dirty bird’ logo too.

The options are absolutely endless.
What Is The NFL Helmet Rule?
As mentioned above, the NFL only permitted teams to use one helmet throughout the entirety of a season before. This rule came into effect in 2013 because the league felt it was in the interest of player’s safety.
However, in an official memo, that rule is now done with. This means that we could see the return of many throwback uniforms and color rush options as in the past, teams would scrap alternate uniforms because they didn’t have the helmet to match it.
